Hi Lillian, great to meet you here. I have put you into my bloglines account. And to answer your question (although I could be biased) I think a story of ambition, love, treachery, divided loyalties and a bit of blood and gore would be more interesting than ever today.

I saw a production of Macbeth a few years ago set in a contemporary political party context. It showed just how relevant the play is in its depiction of what people will do to hang onto to gain political power, the sorts of principles they abandon etc. And also the sorts of energy associated with leadership and the way in which the leader can become quite removed from reality. From memory the witches were a bit like the media or the Canberra Press Gallery. This stuff is primal and enduring.
I inclination not approve on it. I assume nice post. Expressly the title-deed attracted me to review the whole story.
